Ruksana Rahman

Trainer

Ruksana has been working as a family support worker at Balsall Heath Children’s Centre for over 5 years. She was delighted to be given an opportunity to be trained and to facilitate Approachable Parenting and claims that the course has given her great insight into how to support parents who have children displaying challenging behaviour.  Being a Muslim mother, she is able to relate to how difficult it is to bring up children on the right path and fulfil parental responsibilities as a good Muslim.

As a Family Support Worker, Ruksana’s role is to support families by focusing on their individual needs.  She supports disadvantaged and vulnerable families in a deprived multi-cultural community to improve outcomes for children.  Ruksana understands that everyone has different norms and values but when it comes to parenting, most of us face similar issues.
